Hindol Brahmabhatt

Hindol Brahmabhatt born in 1974, received his B.F.A.from the Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S.U. Baroda and a Post Diploma in painting from the same university.

Soothing colors, simple treatment of the subject, this is how Hindol’s paintings appear, but on closer inspection they delve into the reality of urban life. The protagonist are oblivious to the world around them. The artist style is to restrain the use of colors and forms, to distill his visiual vocabulary to the minimum for the maximum effect.

Hindol received a scholarship from the Kanoria Center for Arts, Ahmedabad in 1998. He has had a solo show of his works in Ahmedabad and participated in groups shows in Ahmedabad, Baroda, Bhopal, Mumbai and Delhi. He has also received the Gujarat State Lalit Kala Akademi Award in 1987, 1995 & 1996, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation Award in 1995, Shamshaie Smruti Award,Gujarat State in 1995.

The artist lives and works in Ahmedabad.
